Meet our dedicated and passionate members of the Georgian Bay Youth Climate Collective who make all of our work possible!
Our Organization
The GBYCC was founded by an ambitious and dedicated group of high school students in 2022. Since then, those members have moved on to do incredible things, but still inspire us today!

Julia
Meet Julia, our lead member!
Julia has been active in the GBYCC since 2023. She spends her free time in nature, hiking, biking, or camping. As well as loves anything to do with art, and spending time with her 2 pet lizards!
“I truly believe that we have the power to make a meaningful difference in our community. Growing up on Georgian Bay inspires me to do what I can to protect it!”

Jayla
Meet Jayla, one of our awesome members!
Jayla has been a part of the GBYCC since 2025. She enjoys playing soccer, watching films, and spending time outdoors, camping with her family!

Olivia
Meet Olivia, one of our amazing blog writers!
Olivia is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, specializing in Planetary Science, and has been a part of the GBYCC since 2024. She is passionate about learning, loves teaching, and has a special interest in rocks!
“My goal is to make science more understandable for all youth, and the GBYCC provides me that opportunity!”

Emma
Meet Emma, one of our frequent members!
Emma has been a part of the GBYCC since 2025. She spends her free time sewing and crafting, and loves spending time outdoors!
“I want to help make the earth a better place and Georgian Bay Youth Climate Collective helps me do that with my friends!”

Lutian
Meet Lutian!
He joined the GBYCC in 2026. He enjoys science, history, and geography. In his free time he likes playing basketball, watching TV shows, and listening to old school music such as Billy Joel and the Beach Boys!
“I loved the whole new experience that the Georgian Bay Youth Climate Collective rewarded me with, which is getting to help with the environment, having a place to socialize with people, etc. It is something that has given me my second wind to keep me from boredom, and I look forward to volunteering here for the long-term!”
