Climate Chats at The Drop in Parry Sound

Ever felt like you wanted to talk about what’s happening to our climate but didn’t know how to bring it up? 🤔 We’re making that easier with our Climate Chats.

Anxieties due to our changing, endangered climate (often called “climate anxiety”) can be a constant struggle and it’s hard to work through those feelings on our own: So we’re hosting a bi-weekly drop-in! It’s a chill and welcoming space to learn more about what’s happening and take part in activities that help us work through our climate change-related feelings.

Drop by Climate Chats bi-weekly on Mondays from 6:30-8:00pm at The Drop in Parry Sound.

You can join us in chatting about anxieties and learning through sharing circles and activities;

We’re lucky enough to live by a UNESCO biosphere reserve: Georgian Bay. It’s a beautiful area that’s one of the many threatened by climate change.

In 2019, a few youth in Parry Sound realized that we needed a way to connect with other youth about this growing issue in our lives and started the GBYCC as a volunteer group. We’ve organized large and small community projects, launched events and even a community-touring mural titled “Our Choice.”

This year, we’ve partnered with the Georgian Bay Biosphere and The Drop to host our new Climate Chats drop-in. We’ve come quite far and learned a lot with each other at each one.
